Quarters for the Jukebox

In the Jukebox — May 13

In the jukebox for this week (alphabetically ordered by artist):

  • Big Boi — Royal Flush: Outkast’s shorter half goes solo with this single, but still features Andre 3000 (and Raekwon); “mainstream” fans of Speakerboxxx will be disappointed.
  • City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra — Indiana Jones Trilogy: Grab your brimmed hat and one-liners. Just in time for the new movie, the Prague orchestra performs the music from the three previous Jones movies.
  • Dresden Dolls — No Virgina: Weimar-era-burlesque-alternative-piano-pop-cabaret-punk duo’s fourth full album.
  • J-Live — The Upgrade: Two singles (with multiple renditions) of sampled hip-hop featuring Posdanous & Oddisee.
  • John Bayless — The Circle of Life/Bach Improvisations: Pianist Bayless adds an instrumental only, classical flair to some of Elton John’s most famous songs.
  • John Michael Montgomery — Mad Cowboy Disease: Two-stepping country single about chasing women while drunk.
  • Justice — DVNO: Thumping dance beat in six different versions (with a workable radio edit).
  • Ladytron — Ghosts: Spacey single where indie rock collides with electronica and a great back beat; comes with three remixes.
  • Richie Spice — Gideon Boot: Reggae music with a view on the world.
  • Supergrass — Diamond Hoo Ha Man: Catchy indie rock single.
  • Yung Berg — The Business: Decent slow groove single (about doing the freaky kind of business) featuring Casha; ripe for radio play.
